MERLIN MANN CALLED IT “BLOGGING FOR GROWN-UPS”

As part of my quest for deliverling more content, but against my better judgement, I’ve started a tumblelog, The Last Candle{walk}. The “{walk}” part comes merely from a SRV song I was listening to at the time I needed to think of a title. A song, and a little punctuation abuse.

For those that haven’t heard of a tumblelog before (and my guess is that very few have — it’s not only a relatively new concept, but it’s yet another one of these dumb Web 2.0 ideas), it’s basically mini-blogging. Each post is a single link, a quote, a picture, a couple lines of text, and so on. Bite-sized blogging.

I’m expecting to load a lot of stuff onto the tumblelog; I frequently find little things to contribute to this blog, but the 20-minute writing and uploading Blosxom blogging procedure needed to share it deters me every time. Tumblr, the tumblelog service I’m using, allows me to post these tidbits in a couple minutes, which makes me very happy.

The usual long-winded flotsam will still appear here, of course.

NOT A GOOD WEEK FOR LONG POSTS

Since it’s late, and I don’t have time to wax on about Shadow of the Colossus or Deus Ex or Opeth, go check out the moblog I’ve been, uh, kind of working on.
(I also expect tomorrow’s post to be very weak, due to being home for about twenty minutes between the hours of 8 AM and 12 PM. But I’m trying, okay?)

FYI

From Garrett Oliver’s The Brewmaster’s Table:

The harmony between stouts and chocolate desserts is so big and so wide and so obvious that every restaurant that serves desserts should have at least one stout on its list. If you get only thing from this book, make this point the keeper—stouts are an absolutely perfect match for chocolate desserts.
(Emphasis his, for once.) Just thought I’d pass that along. My immediate suggestion is to try a brownie sundae (with emphasis on the brownie — dark chocolate, if possible) next to Young’s Double Chocolate stout for great success.

LEAVE ANSWERS IN THE COMMENTS PLZ

This is going to be more than a little ridiculous, but since I'll be at a computer during tomorrow's Computer Graphics exam and have the legality to use it, I have decided to live blog the exam. Yes, that's right. Live updates on CPS575's final exam submitted by yours truly!
Beginning at about 5 PM and finishing whenever the darn thing is done with, I will post approximately once per question with posts possibly regarding the contents of the question, impressions, and a small conclusion. I do not expect the live blogging to detract from my grade on the exam, but if it starts to drag a bit and time looks to run short, well…then the posts will be really condensed to something like "clipping poly omg 9/10 4sure". (Hey, there's already something very idiotic about updating your personal weblog during a final exam, so I might as well talk like an idiot to round out the part.)
Don't miss it! About as exciting as seeing a stranger change a tire or watching first-hand an old woman scour for unbruised fruit at the market! Wow!

WHICHEVER COMES FIRST

No posts until either the sun comes out (two weeks of clouds and rain and snow and counting) or December 18th arrives. Ciao, baby.
